Manafort Brothers Receives the 2025 Project Achievement Award

January 23, 2026
At the CMAA CT (Construction Management Association of America) Awards & Scholarship Banquet on November 21st, 2025, Manafort Brothers was the recipient of the 2025 Project Achievement Award for Best Infrastructure Project under $10 Million for the Construction of CTDOT Project No. 0170-3758A, Emergency Repairs due to Rain Event, CT.

In August 2024, Connecticut experienced a historic "1,000-year" rain event, with up to 16 inches of rainfall in under eight hours, causing major flooding along the Housatonic, Little River, and Naugatuck rivers. The unprecedented storm led to widespread road closures, evacuations, and critical infrastructure damage.

Manafort was engaged immediately to assess flood impacts and implement engineering solutions to restore essential routes, including CT Routes 34, 67, and 188. Mobilizing nearly 50 employees across multiple sites within days, Manafort executed accelerated bridge replacements, culvert rehabilitations, and full-depth roadway reconstructions, coordinating closely with CTDOT in a design-build environment.

Through meticulous planning, daily safety assessments, and robust quality control, Manafort reopened key routes weeks ahead of schedule, restored safe passage for residents and businesses, and minimized costs for the state. The project's success exemplifies decisive leadership, collaborative problem-solving, and rapid-response engineering under extreme conditions.
